Bruins add Nicolls to Staff

May 13, 2009

The Chilliwack Bruins are pleased to announce the appointment of Chilliwack native Paul Nicolls as their Strength and Conditioning Coach. For Nicolls, a graduate of Chilliwack Minor Hockey, it's a return to the Western Hockey League after playing for both the Seattle Thunderbirds and Swift Current Broncos and participating in the Memorial Cup Championship in both 1992 and 1993.

"We're excited to have Paul as part of our organization," added Bruins Hockey Operations Advisor Dave Archibald. "Paul's roots in Chilliwack run deep. He’s been a part of hockey at several levels in Chilliwack and has a great passion for the game. He's extremely knowledgeable, and has a great work ethic. We feel by implementing his training programs, our players will be at the physical level they need to be to maximize their results at the WHL level."

"I'm thrilled to be a part of the WHL again, and for it to be in my home town makes it extra special," stated Nicolls. "I'm excited to be a part of an organization that is comitted to creating a winning tradition. The game is becoming more competitive and physically demanding and proper off-ice training enables players to compete at a higher level but more importantly it helps protect them from injury."

Paul Nicolls is owner and operater of Xceed Training in Chilliwack.
